primeras experiencias en la d\u00e9cada del \u00b480. La primera membrana a escala industrial fue la placa plana en 1991. Algunos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, se desarrollaron las membranas de fibra hueca. Actualmente es un proceso ampliamente utilizado a nivel global para el tratamiento de efluentes industriales y municipales.\nMBR significa reactor de biomembranas o membrane biological reactor y es la combinaci\u00f3n de un tratamiento biol\u00f3gico como el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taersa.com\/procesos-barros-activados\/\">lodo activado<\/a>\u00a0 y la separaci\u00f3n solido-liquido mediante membranas microfiltraci\u00f3n o ultrafiltraci\u00f3n. El verdadero cambio disruptivo que ha generado este proceso es el reemplazo del decantador secundario utilizado en todos los <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taersa.com\/procesos-barros-activados\/\">lodos activados <\/a>por filtraci\u00f3n por membranas.
