org\u00e1nicas o inorg\u00e1nicas que puedan estar contenidas en la misma. Tambien es utilizado para la remoci\u00f3n de cloro residual.<\/p><p>Los carbones activados pueden ser empleados en diversas formas: en polvo, granulado o actualmente tambi\u00e9n en forma fibrosa.<\/p><p>Los carbones activados en polvo (CAP) generalmente tienen un di\u00e1metro de part\u00edcula del orden de 44 micr\u00f3metros, lo cual le otorga una r\u00e1pida adsorci\u00f3n, pero son dificultosos en su manejo en lechos fijos, generan mayores p\u00e9rdidas de carga y son dif\u00edciles de regenerar. Por su parte, en su forma granulada (CAG), los di\u00e1metros de part\u00edculas son de 0,6 a 4 mm, son duros, resistentes a la abrasi\u00f3n, relativamente m\u00e1s densos, generan menor p\u00e9rdida de carga, y pueden ser regenerados mediante uso de vapor.
